Suffolk Highways
Details of the panel session at the SALC conference

Panel session

At the SALC conference held on 29th November, we held a panel session with Suffolk County Council and their new partner, Milestone Infrastructure.  On your behalf we asked them a series of questions based on the issues you had raised with us in advance.

We would like to thank the 84 parishes who took the time to provide us with their local experience with Suffolk Highways.   We took these responses and identified a series of common themes which allowed us to bring a focus, with evidence, on the types of concerns our members have and why.   We have passed these on and asked if these matters can be looked into where possible/relevant.  We have also personally spoken to some parishes about their concerns and to help us shape future conversations with Suffolk Highways on your behalf.   We thank those parishes for their time and input.

So what next?

Suffolk Highways are offering to work with SALC to help with stakeholder engagement and communication.  We will keep our members up to date with progress over the coming months.

In the meantime information covering roadworks in Suffolk, temporary road closures, flooding and drainage along with quick guides on how to deal with highway emergencies for example are available online.  Here is a link to the dedicated page on Suffolk County Council's website for ease of reference.
