80th anniversary of
D-Day
6th June 1944 was to start the beginning, of the end of WW II, with many soldiers, sailors and airmen from your communities not returning home, because they sacrificed their lives to enable us to all enjoy the freedom we share today.
The event on 6 June 2024 will also be commemorating the amazing part played by the women of the UK during these difficult times of war, along with the brave fisherman that fished the dangerous seas to keep the nation fed. D-Day 80 - Flag of Peace
To mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landing on 6th June 2024 a souvenir flag is being produced. This provides another simple, meaningful and extremely cost effective way for Town and Parish Councils to take part.
