Applications are invited for the post of Responsible Financial Officer for Beccles Town Council and Beccles Fenland Charity Trust. Previous accounts experience required and an accounting qualification (AAT or part-qualified accountant) would be preferred. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Quickbooks and Scribe (or similar accounting software) is required. Experience in Local Government would be an advantage.
Job Purpose
To implement financial policy, strategy, and operations across the Council and Trust’s services by working with councillors, external bodies, and staff. To carry out functions required by law as the Council’s responsible financial officer (RFO). To seek opportunities to develop the Council’s financial position and maintain an efficient and effective budget.
Part-time position – 15 hours per week. Exact working pattern by negotiation. Some occasional attendance at evening meetings will be required.
Salary range £28,000 to £31,500 pro rata, dependent on qualifications and experience. Contributory salary-related pension scheme available.
